Your Birmingham Zoo is hosting the annual Great Backyard Bird Count on Saturday, February 13 from 8:00am until 10:00am! We're continuing our tradition that unites birdwatchers from across the area as they track bird species found in our own backyards, parks and local spaces. If you’re new to birding, returning after an absence, or just interested in checking out the wintering and resident birds - bird lovers of all ages are invited to bring their binoculars, bird field guides, and cameras for an experience like no other!
Hear bird watching tips fromexperts. This event hosts two hours of bird watching at the Birmingham Zoo with a walk around the Alabama Wilds Trail led by Gregory Harber.
**Post event activities will be accessible with paid admission to the Zoo (Birmingham Zoo Members receive free admission to the Zoo). Various bird related and socially distanced activities are scheduled from 10:15am to 2:00pm, including a sunflower butter bird feeder making station, Jeobirdy game, biofact stations. Guests will also learn how their “wingspans” measure up against other birds!
